Manx Missile

Ok so Mark Cavendish.....As much as I really don't like the guy there is no denying his pure speed. Last year the boy racer was killing every sprint in Le Tour with his amazing lead out train. When watching these sprints I never really felt he was the fastest sprinter, he was just on the fastest sprint team.

Well this year comes around, I knew HTC lost a few of there main lead out men before the season and than the head butt incident happens, there goes Renshaw. There it is little Mark lost his team and now he is done...nope wrong on this one.

Now tactically there were a few blunders in his sprints, as well as a previous race (which I think you know what I am speaking of) but that dude knows how to get up front and when he does there isn't much that can stop him



For example, in this video you see a great side shot of the final 400 meters or so. Thor and his team Cervelo has the front of the peleton other than that there really is no other teams up front. For a second I am thinking Thor has a good chance, maybe not winning the stage but placing really well and more importantly in front of Pettachi. Well I think his mechanics put the motor in backwards because that boys legs fell off with 400 meters to go. Pettachi comes around and a good 5 mph faster and is looking good to win....nope. Cavendish comes on the outside at least 15 mph faster than the rest of the field!

Now as I said before I don't like the guy, he is arrogant and has a big mouth and with out the style of cippo, but watching this video makes you respect the guy. It looks as if Cavendish decided to do RMR missed the A and B flight so he sat in the C's.

So all I can say is Mark listen to Zabel, watch Zabel, be Zabel. Shut your mouth and ride your bike, fast... So maybe my hatred for Cavendish is changing, if Mark does learn some things from the great Eric Zabel we may have a great cyclist coming up instead of just a great sprinter.
